Overview

This feature allows you to hide the Verve AI Desktop App icon from your macOS Dock or Windows Taskbar while the app remains fully functional. The copilot continues running in the background, but without a visible icon in your system’s application bar.
Desktop App only - This feature requires the Desktop App. Not available in Browser or Mobile versions.

How It Works

When you hide the app from Dock/Taskbar:
  • The app icon disappears from your macOS Dock or Windows Taskbar
  • The app continues running normally in the background
  • All copilot features remain fully functional
  • You can still access the app window on your screen
  • The app becomes less noticeable to observers
When you show the app (default):
  • The app icon is visible in your Dock or Taskbar
  • You can click the icon to bring the app window to focus
  • Standard application visibility and behavior

How to Hide/Show the App

Using the Hotkey

Press Cmd + Shift + D (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + D (Windows) to toggle the app icon visibility in Dock/Taskbar.
The toggle works instantly - the icon will appear or disappear from your Dock/Taskbar immediately.

Best Practices

Use this together with Stealth Mode, Custom App Icon, and Click-Through Mode for a comprehensive stealth setup.
Practice hiding and showing the app icon using Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + D so you’re comfortable with the toggle during live sessions.
Remember that pressing Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + D again will restore the icon to your Dock/Taskbar if you need to access app settings or menus.
Since the Dock/Taskbar icon is hidden, rely on window management hotkeys like Cmd+H to hide/show the app window itself.

Important Notes

When the app is hidden from Dock/Taskbar, you won’t be able to click the icon to access menus or bring the window to focus. Use hotkeys for window management instead.
Hiding the app icon doesn’t close or minimize the app - it only removes the icon from your Dock/Taskbar. The copilot window and all features remain active.

Hide from Dock vs. Stealth Mode

Both features help with discretion, but they work differently:
FeaturePurposeHotkeyWhat it hides
Hide from Dock/TaskbarRemove app icon from system barCmd/Ctrl + Shift + DDock/Taskbar icon only
Stealth ModeInvisible during screen sharingSettings toggleCopilot window from screen share
Pro tip: Use both together for maximum stealth - hide the Dock/Taskbar icon AND enable Stealth Mode so neither the icon nor the copilot window appear during screen sharing.
